They Don't Call Him Grimace for Nothing

Scrubbles pal Tim Harrod explores freaky-ass old McDonald's commercials in a hilarious Stay Free magazine article (via Adfreak.com). Those little spindly-legged french fry guys always creeped me out.

Some crazy stuff. Most interesting might be, however, an early appearance of Chris Meloni, from Law and Order SVU and Wet Hot American Summer, in the "Blind Date" spot.

Oh these are fantastic! That cheesy faux-psychedelic McDonaldsland song alone made the long download times worth it!

It's amazing how much of the drug culture Madison Avenue managed to slip into commercials from that era.
