A True Confession

Embarrassing but true: I just downloaded "Waiting for a Star to Fall" by Boy Meets Girl (hey, it peaked at #5 in late 1988!) off LimeWire. These file sharing programs occupy a unique niche by allowing us to acquire all this old crap that we're too sheepish to find otherwise. The hipper, mainstream stuff I'll buy off iTunes; more obscure music gets bought online or traded with friends. Everything else -- LimeWire.

It's time for me to admit that I bought this on 45 when it came out. There, I've done it. Not a bad cut, but I bet it sounds very dated now. How about that sax solo!

Matt--have you heard "In My Arms" by Mylo? It's a great song, built around a vocal sample from "Waiting..." If you haven't heard it, I can dropload it to you, no problem.

I made about 20 cd's worth of 80s stuff when napster was around. Remember Nu Shooz? I had it on cassette!

OMG, I absolutely ADORE That song. To me it's quintessential, perfect pop and I crank it every time I hear it.

Your good taste shines again!
