Pansy Pulp

The Seattle Stranger's 2004 Queer Issue is, um, out. Looks like it has a lot of interesting articles. Completely unrelated - these TV Weekly illustrated covers from the '60s have a goofy/frightening/cool quality. The artist's name is Bob something and his work appeared in a lot of places during that time (such as this Shindig! piece). Anybody got more info?

Whoever the guy was, that image of the soldier holding a tiny, glowing Bob Hope in a Vietnam rice paddy makes it clear to me that he was under the influence of psychotropic substances when he did those covers.

I asked about him on the sound-scavengers list a few months back...never got any replies. Too bad the LA Herald-Examiner is no more, otherwise we could just e-mail their morgue and ask.
