Dusty In ... Manhattan?

Neat little piece on the making of Dusty In Memphis, part of the Guardian's argument-provoking 100 Greatest British Albums list. I found this via Max, who rightfully bemoans the lack of anything by Saint Etienne on the list. No Depeche Mode, either. It's bollocks, I tell ya.

I highly highly recommend the Dusty In Memphis volume in the 33 1/3 series - my fave one in the series so far.

And no Spacemen 3 on the Guardian list? Feh!

hmm, i could have sworn i left a comment here yesterday about this. but i don't see it.

i sometimes think people just make these kind of best lists to annoy me. and stone roses number one? i'm not that familiar with their work, but something just seems wrong about that. it also seems like the list is sort of geared towards the 80s, but maybe that's just an initial impression. i think we can all name bands that should appear on the list but do not.
