Paper or Plastic

The New York Times has a nice article on the state of affairs at Harper's Bazaar and its identity problems in the crowded world of fashion magazines. While at the library last month, I leafed through an issue and was pleasantly surprised. Although not quite up to the diamond standards of the Liz Tiberis/Fabien Baron glory years, the mag is a real page turner with nice layouts and interesting content. It is rather disheartening that a bald-faced "buy buy buy" rag like Lucky is considered more hip than the classy Bazaar.
