The St. Petersburg Times has a gallery of old prom photos. I'm so glad I never did the prom. (via Sharpeworld)

Our school didn't have proms (like in Footloose) so we had high school "social clubs" that each had a "lead-out" prom thing every year. So instead of 1 prom, we had 5 a year! Quite a collection of 70's evening wear I must say! My junior year I wore a yellow ruffled hoop skirt halter with a lace bodice. My date had hair to his shoulders and a mustache. We were VERY cute.
We should all scan pictures and send them!

Yikes! We were considering the prom, but didn't know whether to both wear gowns or tuxes - or if one of us should play the boy. Instead, we dressed up and went into Baltimore for a very adult night of fun. Ah, those are the pics I would like to see - what the queer kids did instead of the goofy prom!
