She's Baaack

One of our favorite places, Sharpeworld, is back. THE stop for weird and ephemeral culture, pop or otherwise.
To celebrate, I grafted the Sharpeworld girl onto the cover of Deborah Harry's Koo Koo album. Ooh, and check out this H.R. Giger album cover gallery. Enjoy!

have you ever seen the video "i've been waiting for tomorrow all my life" by the the? it was apparently shot at giger's house, and has matt johnson hanging around all kinds of creepy giger creations.

Never saw that one. I have, however, seen the video where R.E.M. hung out at Howard Finster's house -- but I imagine the Giger one is much different.

i'm pretty certain i've seen that howard finster video as well.

i think the the the video was done as part of the some bizarre show(if you remember that show that was broadcast on nightflight back in the 80s) and matt johnson may even have forgotten that it exists himself.

"Radio Free Europe" is the one w/REM at Howard's place.

I remember Nightflight! It was on either WTBS or USA. I must have spent many a Saturday night watching that. It has a lot of weird shorts like 'Bambi Meets Godzilla', old instructional movies, concerts and videos. I also remember seeing the French animated movie about little tiny aliens on that show.

nightflight was on usa, it was a sad day when that show got cancelled.

that french film is called the fantastic planet(or in french la planete sauvage). it has an excellent soundtrack, and both the soundtrack and dvd are available(i have both and highly reccomend them).

Giger is god...check out the Director's cut of Alien...there are some great interviews with him and interesting facts about his work. I think it is a four hour documentary.

I want to crack open his head and see what makes him tick.
