Big Mouth Strikes Again

Hip-O Select officially launches today. Basically it's Rhino Handmade as served up by megahumungo entertainment conglomerate Universal. No surprise that everything they've done has been a ripoff of what Rhino does so well, right down to the cartoon mascot. Still, Hip-O has access to the wonderful back catalogs of Motown, Verve and A&M records - so I'm eagerly awaiting what they'll offer.

Hi... I pointed to Hip-O Select's Johnny Burnette and the Rock 'N Roll Trio set the other day. It's actually an exact copy (apart from the liner notes and cover graphics) of the Rockbilly Boogie CD by Bear Family of Germany. Go figure...
