Space Monkeys

William at Robot Action Boy linked to a page of Space:1999 theme variations on mp3, including cover versions. Neat-o! I downloaded the Ennio Morricone track, which is probably a cover version only in the loosest sense. The art above is from this interesting site of Space:1999 merchandise. Whatever happened to Colorforms, anyway?
Also -- my pal Eric pointed me to Comic Book Gorillarama, a place to explore the connections between comics and our simian friends.

colorforms are still around - my son has some for maisy the mouse, and dexter's lab. but sadly the manufacturer seems to be saving money by making them from much thinner plastic now, so (a) they barely stick to the background and (b) they tend to curl up into little useless rolls. i'm getting ready to toss them, honestly. sigh... on the space 1999 tip, i remember the most in-demand space 1999 toy when i was a kid was the tracer(tm) gun that actually shot those little disks, shaped like a funky moonbase gun.
