By some odd alignment of the planets, Jens Lekman came through our medium size upstate NY city last year, and my wife and I went and saw him. It was absolutely one of the most fun shows we have ever been to. I thought he would be solo, or maybe with 1-2 backup musicians, and I was expecting him to be sort of mopey. But instead he had an "8-girl band" and it was tons of fun! Eight swedish women, (not all blonde giants) on piano, drums, accordian, trumpet, trombone, clarinet, guitar, bass, etc. And it was really a blast - funny and rocking. It reminded us of a Jonathan Richman show in some ways, and Jens' song/stories definitely add to that feeling.

In regards to your review of the Sharon Jones and Dap Kings album, I also would highly recommend your readers listening to it. Last evening (at the store in which I work), we listened to this one - 100 Days, 100 Nights - a couple of times.

Enjoyed the sampler too.
