A Future That Never Was

Did you know that today marks the 50th anniversary of the opening of Monsanto’s House of the Future at Disneyland? My s.o. commemorated the occasion with a thoughtful Just Ask Christopher post. Guess the folks at Disney were too busy manning the new Finding Nemo submarines to notice this particular anniversary.

Well I’m happy that they partially salvaged the submarine ride, though it’s disappointing that it has to have a movie tie-in now. I’m sure that they got rid of the mermaids and giant squids that made the ride so charming. My wife and I get all nostalgic when we listen to the soundtrack of that ride on the Sounds of Disneyland CD you sent me. I wish there was a video to go with it.
