Back from the Dead

Scrubbles.net is back. I’m so happy to have a functioning weblog again, and with a sweet new design too. Long story short: my database got corrupted during an upgrade, so I had to start from scratch and redo everything again. The archives are gone, vanished, kaput. Oh sure, they can still be accessed through search engines, but I can no longer update them. That’s what I’ve been spending the last month trying, and failing, to resolve. But that’s OK.

What’s important is that I’m here, and the few remaining readers of this weblog don’t have to worry about me disappearing again.

You get older; you get better.

  5. Great to see you back Matt! I too was checking every other day or so to see if you were up and running. Love the new look.

So glad you’re back! Any fellow TCM fan is a (very missed) friend of mine.

  7. Hooray! I’m glad to see you return. My own weblog took a nosedive about ten weeks ago. The MT database somehow became corrupted, and it wasn’t during an upgrade. I, too, lost all my archives, etc. I’m manually moving certain old entries over one at a time, but it’s a time-consuming process.

I look forward to reading more about your pop culture disoveries.

  8. bring back the scrap table!! also im having trouble with subscribing to the feed?

i too was checking the site every day, glad your back

  9. welcome back! i’ve been checking nearly daily to see if you were back yet. i was starting to wonder if we’d ever see scrubbles up and running again. good to see you’re back! :)

  12. So glad you are back, Matt! See, you ARE missed! :)

  13. Yay! Scrubbles is back!! And looking swanky! Sorry to hear about your MT woes, I feel like I dodged a bullet when I upgraded since nothing happened.

  14. Really glad you are back. You have been in my bookmarks for years now and even though I may go a few weeks between checking in, you are special to me in a way I can’t really explain. Maybe because you were one of the first blogs I visited on a regular basis. Or maybe because you seem like a really nice person.

  15. Great to have you back and I love the new look! I too have a weblog running on an old version of MT that I am contemplating to upgrade or switch to WordPress. Is this a customized template you made or was it available in the new version of MT?

Welcome back, Matt! You have been missed. I have enjoyed your site for years, and look forward to many more. Good luck.

  17. Thank you. Turbanhead – apparently lots of MT users are having lots of problems with the 3.2 upgrade. If you’re thinking of upgrading, definitely skip this one until 3.3. This new design is a slight modification of one of the templates with MT’s StyleCatcher plug-in. It still looks a little too template-y for my tastes, but I guess it’ll do.

Cody – I’m working on the mystery of why we’re not showing up on the feeds and will post an update.

  18. Hi Matt. Yea! You’re back! I like the new look of your site. It’s easy to read.

Keep ferreting out treasures for us to enjoy. Thanks.

  19. Welcome back to be blogless is to be souless nowadays..heh.
